BangkokPost (548k followers) said the bomb explosion that aimed at civilian casualties took place at around 7 p.m. local time inside the Erawan Shrine complex at the Ratchaprasong intersection, an important tourist attraction in Bangkoks main shopping area.

The blast caused immediate casualties, set vehic中信信貸les ablaze inside the intersection and bowed the iron fence of the Hindu shrine outward.

With the aftermath being dealt with, authorities said they have not yet determined the perpetrators who also wounded over 120 others with an improvised explosive device, but stated the attackers clearly intended to wreak havoc on Thailand's economy and tourism, the newspaper noted.

SCMP (229k followers) said those deceased Chinese include two mainland residents and two from Hong Kong.

It also confirmed the identities of the Hong Kong victims -- two women respectively aged 19 and 24.

In wake of the fatal attack that resulted in the Chinese casualties, China's Foreign Ministry initiated an emergency response, and demanded its embassy in Bangkok launch an investigation and go all-out to help treat the injured, the post said.

Next, a Xinhua commentary that responded to a regrettable U.S. move counteracting law-enforcement cooperation with China was widely carried by foreign media, including CNN.

The U.S. government on Sunday ordered the Chinese law-enforcement personnel in the country for the Fox Hunt, an operation that targets corrupt officials of government departments and state-owned enterprises, to return home immediately.

CNN International (9.2m followers) quoted a Xinhua op-ed, which said "Chinas operation is legitimate and has been approved in bilateral agreements reached earlier this year."

The American media also underlined an acknowledged legal cooperation treaty between the two countries, which has laid ground for China's operation on the U.S. soil, and the promise Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson made that voiced active support to China's overseas corruption-fighting actions.

In light of the broken U.S. promise, Xinhua urged necessary sincerity from Washington in future law-enforcement cooperation with China.

New China (1.6m followers) said the two sides agreed not to provide shelter for the other sides fugitives and would try to repatriate them in accordance with law.

"So the U.S. government decision to force Chinas law enforcement stuff to leave the country obviously reveals that Washington lacks sincerity and has failed to translate its words into action," said the commentary.

The United States, as a country that often stressed the rule of law, should clarify the issue and by no means become a safe haven for Chinese criminal suspects, it concluded.

Let's end with the latest update of the rescue work of the Tianjin blasts.

Nearly a week into the response to the massive chemical explosions that has so far left 114 people dead and over 700 hospitalized, China has continued to step up the rescue and clean-up efforts, with a comprehensive and thorough investigation being carried out over the deadly incident.

Reuters (2.3m followers) said Chinese soldiers and rescue workers in protective gear increased their efforts to clear dangerous chemicals at the blast site as rain predicted for Monday afternoon could create toxic gas.

Earlier report said about 700 tonnes of sodium cyanide were at the blast site but remained mostly unaffected.

Authorities have said the cofferdams built around the 100,000-square-meter core area of the blasts will receive constant reinforcement to prevent the outflow of contaminated water after it rains, according to Xinhua, adding an investigation team established by China's State Council is probing into the cause of the explosions.
